Doctor mourned

A beloved Columbia physician who lost his battle with ALS last week is being remembered as a man who made a difference.

Dr. Mark Stevens, 66, died June 13, and colleagues at the Columbia Family Clinic warmly recalled his medical skills, sense of humor and dedication.

City weighs ice cream truck rules

The Board of Aldermen will study what other cities do regarding ice cream trucks before deciding if Columbia will allow them.

Gary Blackwell, who had brought the idea to the Board last month, visited again Tuesday to ask about the ordinance and then gave the history of the current ordinance, which prohibits ice cream trucks.

Ard-Pace to wed

The groom is the grandson of the late Rose Courtney and the late Fred and Mattie Pace.
