Funeral services were held at noon on Monday, March 6, 2017, at Bluff Springs Baptist Church in Magnolia for Sharon Faye Hughes, 69, of Magnolia, who died on Friday, March 3, in Hattiesburg. Interment followed in the Bluff Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Billy Simmons officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 9 a.m. until noon on Monday, March 6, at Bluff Springs Baptist Church. 

Mrs. Hughes was born on Nov. 28, 1947, in Pike County to the late Bennie and Audrey Lawrence Harris. She was a member of Bluff Springs Baptist Church in Magnolia. She retired from Corner Drug Store. She loved her church family and always put helping others first. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.  She will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Joe Harris and James Harris; nephews, Edward Green, Ronnie William Green and John Matthew Green, and her niece, Samantha Faye Green.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Hughes of Magnolia; sons, Michael Todd Lowery (Melinda) of Hattiesburg, Victor Lowery (Melissa) of McComb, Ben Lowery (Shawn) of Smithdale, David Lowery (Kelly) of Hattiesburg, Stacy Hughes of Memphis, Tenn. and Anthony Hughes of Magnolia, nephews, Robert Green, Patrick Green Jr. and Gregory Green, all of Leesville, La.; brothers, Michael Wayne Harris of Brandon and John Paul Harris (Sheri) of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; sisters, (twin sister) Shirley Green (Patrick ) of Leesville, La., Darlene Landry (Anthony) of Biloxi, Bonnie Adams (Danny) and Bessie Nimon (John), all of Smithdale; grandchildren, Cameron, Chase, Noah, Garrison, Briana, Zachary, Austin Terrell and Daniel whom she loved dearly, along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers were Mike Lowery, Victor Lowery, Ben Lowery, David Lowery, Stacy Hughes, Anthony Hughes, Robert Green, Patrick Green Jr. and Gregory Green.

 Honorary pallbearers were Cameron Lowery, Robert Hughes and Jim Colman.

 In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mrs. Sharon Hughes name may be made to the Baptist Children's Village.
